i'm pretty sure that i didn't set any goals at the beginning of 2011 but in october i made a goal to finish* reading the book of mormon. at first i wanted to finish by thanksgiving. then as thanksgiving came closer and closer and then went by. i changed the goal to finish by christmas. and then christmas came and went. so december thirty-first became the new deadline. and i did it! at 12:15 noon on 12/31/11, i finished reading the book of mormon. i'm not sure when i last read the book of mormon from beginning to end, so finishing was a huge accomplishment that deserves a blog post (i know that those are few and far between)! i loved reading and could feel my spriritual growth. i felt a huge significant difference between the days i did read and the days i didn't. so needless to say finishing was very bittersweet.
i have set goals for 2012 that i need to write down to solidify my commitment to them. i think its okay to share a couple of them with the internet. one: read the book of mormon at least twice during the year 2012. i have a pretty solid habit of reading three chapters a day. so that should be fairly easy to do. right? two: blog more. purely for the benefit of...(not sure who yet).
* i guess i should tell you that when i set this goal in october i was in the book of alma.
