last month's nursing link up was so much fun that
i thought i would link up with anna agian!

the hospital i work out is in the midst of changing dress code. starting in october, the policy will be head to ankle in royal blue scrubs. shoes must be black, brown, or white. yuck, right? since i am a newbie nurse cheap and need to save money, i went ahead and bought royal blue scrubs.
now a chunk my closet looks like this:

the dilemma with royal blue scrubs is that every brand has a slightly different shade of royal blue. i think it lookis more professional if i wear matching brand tops and bottoms so that's what i do.
i look better in scrubs that are made of soft material and have shape to them. my favorite brand to wear is grey's anatomy, in this style. (everyone owns this top but they have the cutest cut and softest fabric.) i also own and wear frequently this top by nrg and this top by cherokee.
other must haves in my nursing wardrobe:
i think it might be time for an upgrade in the stethoscope area.
why don't more nurses wear compression socks? i think/hope my
legs will thank me one day for wearing them!
i almost never ever take off my watch! i wouldn't be a good nurse without a watch.
i left home without my badge. i ended up turning around getting it. yes i was late to work because of that. lesson learned: never leave home without your name badge. even though i found that if you forget your badge that they can give you a temporary one. now i try to make sure it's attatched to my top before i leave the house. cute picture, right? i was in need of a haircut and my bangs were starting to rebel.
i of course have the usual heaps of pens, markers, highlighters, and scissors (how did i get three pairs?) that i keep in a craft storage tote that i got from michael's that sits on top of my nursing cart. in that tote you can also find a calculator, pill crusher, pill spliter, post-its. anything else i would need in my day to day routine as a nurse i can probably find in my nursing cart.
my nursing wish list:
i thought that i misplaced my stethoscope one day. i went to all
my patient's rooms searching for it. later i found it in the nurses station
where i had sat down to chart. this stethoscope id tag would sove this problem!
i really need a pen light! i always seem to have a patient that is a q4 vitals.
that is on my list of things to buy soon too!
